Basel-based trumpet player Jens Bracher studied in New York City and the Manhattan School of Music, Cologne, Freiburg and Stuttgart
He was the first trumpet scholarship from Germany at the International Ensemble Modern Akademie Frankfurt. He continued his artistic education with Prof. Forman at the "Hanns Eisler" College of Music in Berlin
In the jazz section, he expanded his skills with Axel Schlosser from the HR Big Band. In addition, Bracher worked with the flamenco guitarist Jorge Castañeda and dancers.
His work with Pierre Boulez, Mike Svoboda, Ensemble Linea (Strasbourg) and Collegium Novum Zurich, practice with live electronics and participation in the Lucerne Festival Academy (Ensemble Intercontemporain) and the Darmstadt vacation courses round off his experience in contemporary music.
Currently he works among others. As organizer and manager of the Bündner Ensemble "ö!" For New Music (Chur), as well as an assistant for the Aargau composer Martin Schlumpf and as promoter of the Reto Suhner Nonetts (Zurich).
